This airline was established in 1946 and commenced operations under the name PIA, as the flag carrier of Pakistan, in 1955 with its headquarters in Karachi. The primary hub of Pakistan International Airlines is at Jinnah international Airport in Karachi, and secondary hubs are at Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore, and Benazir Bhutto International Airport in Islamabad. PIA is the largest airline in Pakistan and was also the first airline to fly the Boeing 777-200LR.

PIA offers Business Class, Economy Plus+ and Economy cabins to its travellers, though most international flights are equipped with only the Business and Economy Class.

Economy Class permits each passenger one piece of luggage with a maximum weight of 20 kg; Economy Plus allows each passenger to check-in one piece of luggage with maximum weight of 25 kg per and the Business Class permits each traveller to check-in two pieces of luggage with the total weight not exceeding 30 kg.
